 Or,

2)  Alternatively, you could purchase a Student access code separately. This is a good option if you already own the book, plan to purchase the book 'used', or use the including e-book within the online course materials.  The access code is sold in the OC bookstore or online (for around $78) as you register on the course material website.

The text is: "Beginning & Intermediate Algebra",  4th edition, by Martin-Gay.   Remember, only NEW books from the OC bookstore include the access code!

About the Online Class:

Math 11 and Math 14 Online are Internet Based courses using Coursecompass.

There will be 5 meetings on campus.   (See above for the dates)

An online course offers students the flexibility to choose WHEN to spend their time learning, and eliminates the need to travel to the campus daily for class.  On the other hand, online classes can be difficult for a lot of students due to the challenge of meeting deadlines and the pressures of learning material without direct instructor help.

Instruction takes place over the internet with streaming videos, powerpoint slide shows, interactive lessons & practice problems.  There is instructor support through emails and weekly online office hours in a virtual classroom.

Successful distance learners fit the following profile:

• learn well through written instruction

• manage their time effectively

• work well independently

• are proactive in finding out the answers to their questions

• self-motivated

• use technology with a reasonable degree of comfort

• understand the time commitments for this course

• will not fall behind if given the freedom to manage their own time

• can work at their own pace and still meet deadlines.

How to start:

Enroll in either Math 11 online or Math 14 online

MANDATORY! - Attend an Orientation session  (see dates above)
