Math 11:  You will need to have "Beginning & Intermediate Algebra",  4th edition, by Martin-Gay.  This is a new edition of the textbook containing an Access Code needed to enroll in the internet course.  Bring your Access code to orientation.   You must purchase this textbook new through the Oxnard College Bookstore to receive the access code.

Math 14:  You will need to have "Beginning & Intermediate Algebra", 3rd edition, by Martin-Gay.This is the same book Oxnard College has used in the past for Math 11 and Math 14.  If you don't already own a book, the OC bookstore should have used copies.  I'd recommend getting it as soon as possible (bookstore is open during the summer).

About the Online Class:

Math 11 and Math 14 Online are Internet Based courses

Instruction will take place over the internet with streaming videos, powerpoint slide shows, interactive lessons, and practice problems.  There will be instructor support through emails and weekly online office hours in a virtual classroom.

There will be 5 meetings on campus on selected Saturdays (see above), 1 Orientation & 4 Exam days.

An online course offers students the flexibility to choose WHEN to spend their time learning, and eliminates the need to travel to the campus daily for class.  On the other hand, online classes can be difficult for alot of students due to responsibilty of deadlines and the pressures of learning material without direct instructor help.
